Founded in 2018 by Alice and Tom Johnson, No Morals Tattoos began as a vision to create a studio unlike anything else in Hertfordshire. With a focus on custom tattooing, a relaxed environment, and a client-first approach, Alice and Tom built the studio themselves with the support of friends and family and working on a shoestring budget. Every detail was considered, from sourcing the best furniture and equipment to shaping a luxuriously industrial space that felt both welcoming and inspiring. From the outset, their goal was clear: to establish a strong foundation, grow the team over time, and create a studio capable of developing into more specialised styles of tattooing.
As the studio evolved, No Morals Tattoos gained recognition for its distinctive artistry and commitment to exceptional client care. With the addition of Jay Johnson and Maddie Cade to the team, No Morals Tattoos expanded its creative capabilities, with each artist offering their own style and approach to custom tattooing. Word spread quickly, and No Morals Tattoos became known not only as a place for high-quality tattoos, but as a welcoming, accessible studio where clients felt truly looked after.
In 2023, No Morals Tattoos moved into a larger, purpose-designed studio, a space created with intention to make every client feel welcome, regardless of where they are in their tattoo journey. The new studio embodied a modern approach to tattooing: open, thoughtful, and built to support creativity. This period also saw the arrival of artists Jazmyn Proud and Laura Mercy, expanding the studio’s stylistic range even further. The rebrand to NMT represented a natural evolution of the business, positioning the studio as a collective of artists working together to provide the very best in custom tattooing.
With the arrival of Rob Nash, Kat Corney and Allysia Lund, NMT became a fully rounded team, offering an extensive range of styles and strengthening the community-focused environment that clients have come to love. At NMT, everyone is treated as a friend, and the studio continues to uphold its founding principles of creativity, comfort, and personalised artistry.
As NMT looks to the future, the mission remains unchanged: to push artistic boundaries, develop the client experience and support the growth of its talented team all whilst continuing to provide Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, London, and the surrounding areas with a studio that prioritises quality, care, and community.
